Ditch the Bluegrass Lawns!

One of the easiest ways to conserve water (and money )is to remove that bluegrass lawn and plant native buffalograss instead. A bluegrass lawn requires 1/2" to 2" of water per week while buffalograss only needs 1/4" of water PER MONTH once established!   As with most natives, the root depth of buffalograss is much longer than bluegrass, allowing it to take moisture from further down.  Buffalograss roots can extend three feet or more while bluegrass generally has shallow roots of about 8".     Below you will find some helpful info about replacing that bluegrass lawn with buffalograss!
